Band Member Bios:

Tina Dohl - Vocals

Prior to the band, Tina was best known for her involvement in the Northwest Indiana Community Theatre Productions.  Tina has been involved in numerous productions in the past two decades.  Most memorably as Velma Kelly in "Chicago" at the Memorial Opera House where she won the 2002 Best Principal Actress in a Musical Award, and most recently as Sally Bowles in the Star Plaza Theatre's production of "Cabaret".  Tina decided to try her hand at rock 'n roll when approached by X-GirlFriend's bass player, Rik Menconi.  Tina officially became a member of the band in October 2003 and has been working hard in the club scene with X-GirlFriend ever since.

Larry Roberts - Lead Guitar & Backing Vocals

Larry has been playing guitar for 23 years and became a part of the Chicago/N.W. Indiana live music scene at the tender age of 13.  Having focused mainly on the harder rock side early on, his open-minded tastes in different styles of music lead to him branching out into other musical areas, playing classic rock/psychedelic covers with Zoom Club, punk rock with The Gruesomes, alternative/prog with Wiseguy, and the gothic-tinged metal of Novembers Doom, whom he still tours with internationally and records cds.  In recent years, Larry became involved with the party rock covers scene, and performed with local bands such as Wookie Luv and most recently Centerfold.  It was while playing with these bands that he became acquainted with X-Girlfriend, and a mutual admiration for each other's style and abilities has now lead to them working together at last.

Rik Menconi - Bass Guitar

The musical novice of the band, Rik has been playing bass for the past 5 years, and almost as many bands.  While most of the bands that Rik has played in focused on the specific genre of music of '90's rock to current radio hits, it was his short stint in the female fronted band, Zu Zu's Petals, that created the vision of what has come to be X-GirlFriend.  While spending over two years in the alt-rock cover band, Milhouse, Rik grew tiresome of the songs that could not only be heard by Milhouse, but also a variety of bands all across the region's clubs.  This made Rik want to create a fun, energetic, female-fronted band that could do cover songs, but with more diversity to appeal to a larger audience.  Rik is the founding member of X-GirlFriend that took inception in September 2003.

Vern Cranor -Drums & Precussion

Vern Cranor has been playing drums for the better part of his life, having received his first drum kit at the age of 5.  He joined his first band, Mantlepiece in high school, and was playing the local clubs at the age of 16.  In 1998, Vern decided to switch gears and became the lead singer in Jump In The Dumpster, which he fronted until his day job sent him packing to California, where he took a break from music all together.  After his return to the Region in 2002, Vern became a founding member of local favorites, Sadie’s Cage, finding himself back in the familiar position of being behind the drum kit.  Since then, Vern has been a staple in the Chicagoland music scene, having played with bands Overdue, and most recently, Nawty.  Vern is a very welcome addition to X-GirlFriend, and not only brings a great amount of dynamic energy in his playing style, but has truly become the driving force of the band.  Vern’s fluidness behind the kit, as well as his overall stage persona have allowed him to mesh well with the band and it’s high energy stage show, something that X-GirlFriend fans have become accustomed.  Vern officially became a member of X-GirlFriend in May 2007.
