So here it is the start of a new year, and X-GirlFriend is set to start rockin' 2010 with a very full gig schedule that has the band returning to rock some very fun stages of days past, as well as some brand new venues! The band has also scaled back to its original 4 piece line up to tackle the work load that they face in this first quarter of the new year!

Some special gigs of interest that will be coming up include the "Anti-Valentine's Day" party at Risque Café on Feb 13 in Downtown Chicago's Wrigleyville neighborhood, the March 5th show with Chicago's famous HairBanger's Ball at The Jim Beam Warehouse in Valparaiso, and Rik's Annual Birthday Bash at Czar's 505 in St. Joseph, MI (hotel rooms are still available at a discount rate).

The band looks forward to rockin' each and every show this year with their friends & fans who make this whole band thing all worth while!! Stay tuned for Summer 2010 announcements as the band has already started to receive offers for festivals in Joliet, Schererville, Dyer, Chicago, New Buffalo, MI, and St. Joseph, MI.

Well, its long over due that we catch you up to speed on what has been going on in the X-GirlFriend camp.  The band is now returning from their small hiatus which dates back to the beginning of March, and is coming back with a great amount of enthusiasm and drive.  First and foremost, X-GirlFriend would like to introduce a new addition to the band, as they now feature Steve “Beaver” Lopez on rhythm guitar and vocals.  Beaver, as he is known to many, performed this summer with Rik, Vern, and Larry in the temporary project, Lil’ Betty Ford.  As the band geared up for their return to the stage, they realized that the new songs that they wanted to add would really benefit from an additional guitar, and chose to add Beaver to the fold.  Having said that, the band has armed themselves with another 20+ songs to keep things new and fresh, and have already added a dozen dates between now and the end of the year, beginning with Saturday, October 10th at Buddy & Pals in Crown Point!  Look for even more exciting news over the next couple of months as X-GirlFriend gets into full swing!

So here it is the end of another year.  First off, we would like to wish all of our friends and fans a very happy holiday season!  It is because  of all of you that we continue to be weekend warrior Rockstars!  It as been a great year for us, and we are already gearing up to make 2009 even better with new clubs and new tunes already in the works!

Now, having said that, make sure that you plan to ring in 2009 with    X-GirlFriend as they perform a NYE BASH at The Radisson Hotel at Star Plaza in Merrillville, IN.  The band will be performing in the Grand Celebrity Ballroom.  It is $25 per person, and the doors open at 9pm. There will be a champagne toast and balloon drop at midnight, and the band will be playing until 2am! Now, I don't like to start rumors….but rumor has it there may be an after party with the band….

Congratulations goes out to Tina Dohl, X-GirlFriend's lead singer, as she  has been cast in the lead role of Velma Kelly for the Star Plaza Theatre's summer production of the musical Chicago.  Tina will be re-creating the role that recognized her with a Best Principal Actress ward from the Northwest Indiana Excellence in Theatre Foundation. The show will run in Merrillville, Indiana's Star Plaza Theatre on July 19th, 20th, 25th, and 26th.

Now, all you fans of Tina's Rock n Roll side need not worry!  The band will still be hitting the clubs on the weekends, including some new venues in Lowell (IN), Knox (IN), Glendale Heights (IL), Chicago (IL), Palos Heights (IL), and more!

Armed with new songs and new venues, the band will be looking to add to their army of fans.  Make your plans to catch an X-GirlFriend show in  the city nearest you!
